MTFA BURIAL FUND
What does this Fund?
Every year, there are those among us who pass on with no one by their side. No family to claim them, no one to bathe and shroud them, no one to offer a final prayer. Some never had the chance to take their first breath.
The MTFA Burial Fund supports families in our community who cannot afford burial services for a loved one who has passed, so that their grief is never made heavier by cost. When no one else is there for them, your gift makes sure we are.
It also covers the cost of burial for unclaimed bodies, foetuses and body parts, so each one is received with care and laid to rest according to Islamic rites. When no one else is there for them, your gift makes sure we are.
CARRIED OUT BY MTFA IHSAN CASKET
Every rite, fulfilled
with Ihsan
Burials funded by your gift are carried out by MTFA Ihsan Casket, our burial services subsidiary. Its team handles each person entrusted to us with the same care and respect we would want for our own.

Received with care
Hospitals, welfare organisations or families contact MTFA, and arrangements are made, often on the same day.
Cleansed (ghusl)
The deceased is washed according to Islamic practice, with dignity and modesty.
Shrouded (kafan)
Wrapped in clean white cloth, as every Muslim is, regardless of means.
Laid to rest
Buried with prayers, so that no one leaves this world unaccompanied.
FROM CRADLE TO GRAVE
A duty we carry together
In Islam, caring for the deceased is fardhu kifayah, a responsibility shared by the whole community. When there is no family to fulfil it, or the family cannot bear the cost, that responsibility falls to all of us.
Since 1904, MTFA has stood with our community at every stage of life, including its very last. The Burial Fund makes sure that the final rites of cleansing, shrouding and burial are carried out with care, for everyone.
Many will never know your name. But through your gift, they are bathed, shrouded and prayed over, and none of them leave this world alone.
WITH IHSAN, WE CAN
Need burial assistance?
Families, hospitals and welfare organisations may contact MTFA for a free burial where there is no next of kin, no claimant, or the family is unable to pay.
