To be eligible for our bursary programs, applicants must meet the following criteria: Nationality: Must be a Muslim Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident. Education: Must be a full-time student enrolled in a public or recognized private learning institution*. Income (Higher Education)*: For ITE, Diploma, and University students, the household Per Capita Income (PCI) must not exceed $700. Income (Primary & Secondary): For Primary and Secondary students, the bursary is tied to the main Financial Assistance (FA) application. The household PCI must not exceed $600. *Tertiary students who are graduating in current year are not eligible.

Yes, you are allowed to apply for the Bursary by MTFA even when you have applied for other bursaries. However, you will need to declare in the application form.

The award value for successful applicants is as follows: Primary, Secondary & Special Education: $35/month (Primary Level) $42/month (Secondary Level) ITE, Diploma, IB & Pre-U students: $1,000 each student, per year University students: $2,000 each student, per year.

Once we have received your fully completed application and all required supporting documents, the assessment process typically takes 8 weeks. All applicants will be notified of their application outcome through the email address provided in the application form.

No, there is no bond or service contract attached to our Bursary awards. We believe in supporting your education without financial or legal restrictions. Our Community Spirit: While not a requirement, we warmly encourage our bursary recipients to volunteer or serve with MTFA and its subsidiaries. This is an opportunity for you to give back to the community and grow with us. Detailed information on how you can participate in our community programs will be shared in your Approval Email.
