Environmental Stewardship (E): Clean Energy & Resource Conservation

Fulfilling our environmental duty (Amanah) through actionable infrastructure investments and sustainable operational habits:

  • Rooftop Solar PV Systems: Installed solar panel arrays across our two primary building assets at Mattar Road and Wan Tho Avenue to generate clean, renewable solar energy, significantly lowering our Scope 2 carbon footprint and grid reliance while redirecting energy cost savings directly into beneficiary care.

  • Go 25 National Cooling Commitment: Officially pledged to Singapore’s Go 25 movement, maintaining indoor air-conditioning setpoints at 25°C across administrative and care facilities to eliminate overcooling and optimize building energy efficiency.

  • Active Phase-Out of Disposable Products: Transitioning from single-use paper and plastic plates, cups, and cutlery to durable, reusable tableware across Darul Ihsan Homes, staff facilities, supported by paperless digital workflows.

Social Responsibility (S): Beneficiary Care, Workforce Well-being & Sustainable Partnerships

As a charity, our social responsibility encompasses both the community we serve and the people who power our mission:

  • Staff Well-being & Caregiver Support: Caring for our frontline healthcare staff, social workers, and care personnel by maintaining competitive wages aligned with MOH and NCSS guidelines, providing clinical safety protocols, burnout prevention support, and professional upskilling.

  • Sustainable Partnerships & Community Ecosystem: We extend our commitment beyond internal teams to include volunteers, corporate CSR partners, and institutional allies. We proactively build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships that amplify community impact, while enforcing strict background checks and child safeguarding protocols for all volunteer engagements.

Governance & Integrity (G): Institutional Stewardship & Public Trust

MTFA Council is committed to upholding high governance standards aligned with ourvision of an empowered community receiving accessible, high-quality support:

  • Code of Governance Compliance: MTFA takes guidance from the Commissioner of Charities, adhering strictly to the Code of Governance for Charities and IPCs. The Board regularly reviews and updates our governing Constitution to preserve organizational relevance and institutional integrity.

  • Robust Whistleblowing Policy: A clear, confidential reporting channel to report any ethical concerns or procedural lapses without fear of retaliation.

  • Accountable Data Protection (DPTM Standard): Adopting the Data Protection Trustmark (DPTM) framework and Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) compliance to demonstrate accountable data protection practices, safeguarding beneficiary medical records and donor trust.
