Bright lights. Recognition. Accomplishment.
This year, MTFA celebrated the achievements and dedication of our scholars at our Annual Awards Ceremony. The event was a testament to the hard work and resilience of our scholars, staff members, and residents, making it an event to remember.
Held at Civil Service Club @ Tessensohn on 19th October 2025, we were honoured to have Ms Tin Pei Ling, Member of Parliament for Marine Parade - Braddell Heights GRC (Macpherson Division), as our Guest of Honor.
A total of 59 exceptional scholars - both local and overseas - were recognised with the Founders’ Scholarship Award. Each scholar’s journey showcased remarkable dedication and the pursuit of excellence. Their achievements were a shining example of what can be accomplished with hard work and perseverance.
For years, MTFA has awarded the Founders’ Scholarship Awards to scholars who are pursuing their dreams.
“This scholarship has been such a great help for me and my family in relieving the financial burden of pursuing my graduate studies,” said Ummu Sa’adah Binte Muhamad Anuar from the University of Limerick . Expressing her gratitude, she said, “I’m really thankful to MTFA, the team, the board, the donors for supporting and changing my life and also the life of of many others trying to pursue a higher education,”
Ummu was one of the overseas scholars pursuing her Masters of Arts in Dance Performance and is grateful for the scholarship in making her graduate studies journey smoother.
“Thank you MTFA for supporting my family and I on my PhD journey abroad and May Allah bless all the donors,” shared Said Effendy Bin Said Iziddin, who is currently completing his PhD in Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge.
“Thank you MTFA and all the kind donors for granting me the Founders’ Scholarship. I am incredibly grateful and honoured. This scholarship allows me to focus fully on my studies and on volunteering opportunities without the worry of securing additional funds. I will put the funds to good use, In Syaa Allah,” shared Shajiah Begum, who is currently pursuing her MSc in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
The evening also paid tribute to the dedication of MTFA’s staff through the Staff Service Milestone Awards. From long-serving team members to those contributing tirelessly behind the scenes, each individual’s efforts were celebrated with heartfelt applause, highlighting the crucial role they play in supporting the organisation’s mission.
“Receiving the 15-year Milestone Award is deeply humbling. I chose MTFA because serving our community with purpose and Ihsan, while continuing our forefathers’ legacy, gives lasting meaning to my journey,” said Ustad Muhammad Saiful Bin Abdul Karim, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of MTFA.
Another highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of the academic accomplishments of our residents from Darul Ihsan Orphanages. Their determination and diligence in pursuing knowledge were a source of inspiration for all present, a reminder of the transformative power of education and opportunity.
The auditorium radiated with pride and joy as the successes of these remarkable individuals were celebrated. Their achievements were a shining example of what can be accomplished with hard work and commitment.
As the ceremony drew to a close, the sense of achievement and inspiration lingered. MTFA continues to celebrate excellence, nurture talent, and support the growth of our community - proving that dedication, hard work, and compassion always deserve recognition.
